Job description:

Mainstream Therapy is looking for a Part Time therapist to join our growing team of collaborative professionals. Specifically, we are looking for an individual to take on a part-time caseload supporting children and youth (age 5-18 years).

We are a holistic mental health counseling practice located in the north end of Barrie. We strive to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment to work alongside our clients for success; whatever that might look like for them. Within our clinic we serve children, adults, couples and families.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Service/Social Work

  • Licence to practice the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy by an approved governing body (e.g. OCSWSSW, CRPO etc) Yorkville qualifying therapists are ineligible

  • Liability insurance (or ability to obtain after being hired)

  • Experience in private practice preferred, experience with children & youth is mandatory

  • Strong clinical skills - assessment, counseling, and discharge planning/community integration, crisis intervention.

  • Familiarity and ability to practice using a variety of modalities; CBT, DBT, EFT, IFST, etc. as well as current knowledge of best practices for children and youth

  • Commitment to professional development

  • Demonstrated ability to document according to college standard

  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and be self-directed to think critically and problem solve effectively

  • Knowledge of community resources in the Barrie and surrounding areas, willing to familiarize yourself with other community resources where appropriate.

  • Excellent employment and attendance record

  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
