Mair Lalonde

Affordable Student-Led Clinic Counsellor

Hey! My name's Mai, and I'm a third-year Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology student at Georgian College.

My passion for this work comes from a lifelong fascination with the human mind and the ways people understand themselves and their experiences. As my favourite poet, Atticus, says,"We humans are so tortured by not properly guessing what will make us happy." I believe that, deep down, we all have some sense of what we want for ourselves, and part of life is learning how to understand that. I hope to support others through that process with curiosity, compassion, and person-centered care!

My educational background includes criminal law, philosophy, and various therapeutic approaches, all of which have shaped my perspective as a developing counsellor. I also have experience working with children and youth living with developmental disabilities, as well as LGBTQ+ individuals, though I'm open to working with a variety of clients. I'm especially interested in supporting individuals navigating life transitions, coping with challenges, anxiety, and depression.

Outside of counselling, I'm very passionate about caffeine and would love to support you over a cup of coffee, tea, energy drinks, or chocolate! Please feel free to reach out to schedule an appointment with me and see if I may be a good fit to support you! :)
