C&Y Therapist

Hi, I'm Sharleen
a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Counsellor who is committed to supporting children, youth, and families through life's challenges with empathy, honesty, and a calm, collaborative approach. I believe every child and young person has unique strengths, and I am passionate about helping them build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to navigate life's ups and downs.
Creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space is at the heart of my practice. I strive to ensure that children and youth feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I recognize that no two individuals are the same, which is why I tailor each session to meet the unique needs, strengths, and goals of the child, youth, and family I am supporting.

I have experience working within educational, community, and clinical settings, supporting children and youth with a variety of social, emotional, and mental health needs.

My areas of focus include ADHD, Eating Disorders, Perfectionism,Anxiety ,Learning disabilities, and Autism.
I understand that supporting a child or youth through their journey can be both rewarding and overwhelming. Emotions such as anxiety, frustration, self-doubt, and uncertainty can be difficult for young people to understand and express, leaving parents unsure of how best to help.

Therapy can be a proactive and meaningful way to strengthen resilience, foster self-understanding, and build stronger connections within families.

My goal is to help children and youth discover their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and build skills they can draw upon throughout their lives. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing a young person gain confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals that once felt out of reach. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside children, youth, and families as they create positive and lasting change.
In addition to supporting children and youth, I am passionate about empowering parents through individualized parent coaching. Using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, I work collaboratively with caregivers to provide practical strategies, resources, and tools that help them better understand and support their child's emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
I believe that meaningful growth happens when children, youth, and families feel supported, understood, and empowered. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities for growth, resilience, confidence, and connection.
I welcome the opportunity to connect with you and discuss how therapy may support your child, youth, or family as you take the next steps on your journey.
